Floyd

Floyd.. Tall, dark and handsome! Floyd is a 2 year old Pointer X Lab. he’s a tall boy with the most fabulous glossy black coat! He sits for treats, will happily give smooches and is a massive foodie!! He’s a giant softie and absolutely loves a cuddle. He’s very very active, not much of a fetch kinda guy but boy does he love to run!! He does need some training walking on lead but he’ll get there with consistency. Although he responds to his name his recall isn’t great, he’s just too interested in the world around him! He’s definitely a tracking dog! As soon as we go out his nose is to the ground! He currently lives with three children (16,15 & 7) He loves them and having a fuss with them and would adore any children in his new home. He loves to jump up and have a full big hug but we’re trying to teach him 4 paws on the ground and he gets attention! He’s great with visitors and people when out walking. People are his thing! I have a 10 year old huskyXlab. It took a little bit of settling in for them both but they’re happy enough now. They’ve learnt each other’s boundaries and even share a little kiss occaisionally. He’s fine with other dogs but doesn’t like them jumping all over him and constantly in his face. He does prefer his people but as long as any other dog can respect his space he’s absolutely fine. Floyd cannot live with cats or other small furries as he does like to chase them. He is a Pointer!! He does now sleep in a crate and his bed time is 10pm. He loves soft toys but he is a chewer so strong chew toys are needed along side his nice soft teddies! If left along too long he will chew whatever he can get ahold of! He knows leave and will drop things when told. He has no problem with people touching his food but doesn’t like other pets going near so I feed them separately. He is fully toilet trained and has not had a single accident in his time here! He likes to help with house chores such as unpairing socks, unloading the washing machine while I’m loading it and ‘cleaning’ the windows haha Floyd loves to snuggle up on the sofa and watch films! His favourite is Lady and the Tramp! He has Leishmaniasis which is a life long condition and happily takes daily medication for it. It is not contagious and as long as he takes his meds you’d never know he was any different! He is neutered. Floyd does need some basic training but hes so willing to learn and just wants to please his people. He’s a giant over grown pup with so much love to give and would thrive in an active home.
