All about this dog…
Tux
Hux is a fabulous boy, he is so handsome and just 2yrs 4 months old . He flew to the UK as a puppy but has now had to go to foster as his owner’s circumstances changed and she couldn’t keep him He is now in the Portsmouth area in foster and looking for his forever home. This is what his foster mum says about him He has the softest coat with beautiful brindle colouring. His photos do not do him justice. He arrived to us 30th January, fairly underweight and quite nervous. He would approach us a little and accept some affection but he had his safe space on his noodle blanket on the other sofa. It only took a couple of days until he was enjoying fuss and attention and lying next to us on the sofa. He quickly made friends with my dog and they wrestle playfully together. They are quite high energy when playing together and it is lovely to watch. Hux sits nicely to get his harness on. He walks quite well on a lead. He does occasionally pull but is manageable. He will need some continued lead training. He also likes going on the long training lead. We have taken him to a secure field, which he absolutely loved being able to properly run free. He is a fast boy and his recall is already coming on. He will need more work with his recall, to know he is consistent with it before letting him off the lead unsecured. We feed Hux at the same as our dog, they eat in same area without problem. He takes treats and chew sticks without problem and we haven't seen any guarding or aggression over food or treats. At night, Hux sleeps in bed alongside my dog in the dining room. He settles without any noise or problem. He is so excited to see us in the morning. During the day, Hux has access to the living room/dining room with my dog. He will settle on a sofa. He has been left up to 3 hours so far and shows no sign of distress or destruction. He does bark when the door rings but only for 10 seconds and he quiets down quickly when told. Hux enjoys company but he can equally take himself off to lie on the sofa alone. Hux could happily live with a playful dog but would just as happily live as an only dog.
