MEET DANTE 🐾

Dante is a beautiful young male hunting dog, approximately 18 months old, who arrived at our pound on 24 September 2026.

And honestly… he is one of those dogs who makes you wonder how such a gentle soul could have been through so much. 💔

Dante is incredibly calm, sweet and friendly. 🥰 He is wonderful with people and gets along beautifully with the other dogs at the pound. He has such a gentle and loving nature and could make an absolutely wonderful family companion.

But his story is not as beautiful…

Veterinary examinations revealed that Dante had been shot at close range. His entire body and face are filled with tiny pellets. 😔

Thankfully, according to his veterinarian, the pellets are extremely small and are not causing him any pain or other complications. There are also far too many of them to justify attempting to remove them.

Dante has also tested positive for anaplasma. He has already started the appropriate antibiotic treatment and will also receive the two necessary Imizol injections.

One of the pellets has also affected his left eye. 👁️ He has been examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist and is currently receiving treatment for internal bleeding in the eye.

His eye is not completely blind. He has partial loss of vision in his left eye, while his right eye has normal vision. 🙏❤️ According to the ophthalmologist, this is not expected to cause him any significant problems in the future.

✨ And now Dante is ready to look towards a brighter future.

He will be ready to travel in January ✈️🐾 and what he needs most of all is something every dog deserves:

🏡 A family.
❤️ A home.
🐾 A second chance.

Dante could be a wonderful family dog and would be perfect for anyone looking for a calm, affectionate and gentle companion. ❤️

After everything he has been through, he simply does not deserve to grow up in a pound.

He deserves to wake up every morning in a warm home, surrounded by people who love him, with a family who will protect him and show him that life can be beautiful. 🏡❤️🐾
