When Buffy first arrived at the pound, he was visibly overwhelmed by everything around him. The unfamiliar noises, barking dogs, and constant activity left him confused and frightened. In those first days, he didn’t feel brave enough to even step outside his kennel. He would stay tucked inside, watching the world from a distance, trying to make sense of it all. But Buffy is a sensitive and resilient soul. With patience, calm handling, and gentle reassurance, he slowly began to build trust. Day by day, he gathered the courage to take small steps forward — first standing at the kennel door, then stepping outside briefly, and eventually joining volunteers for short walks. Now, he happily goes out for walks and truly seems to enjoy them. You can see the difference in him as he explores his surroundings, taking in scents and new experiences with growing confidence. Despite his initial fear, Buffy has always shown a deep desire for human connection. Inside his kennel, he presses himself as close to the fence as possible, quietly asking for attention. He watches people pass by with hopeful eyes, longing for someone to stop and offer a gentle touch. When he receives affection, his whole body softens. He absolutely adores cuddles, belly rubs, and slow, reassuring strokes. He leans into people, seeking closeness and comfort, and forms bonds quickly once he feels safe. Buffy is extremely people-oriented and thrives on physical affection — and yes, his fur is as soft as a little fluffy cloud, making those cuddle moments even sweeter. Outside of the shelter environment, Buffy shows what a well-mannered and cooperative boy he truly is. He travels calmly in the car, settling down without fuss. At the vet, he behaves beautifully — allowing examinations without stress, aggression, or the need for a muzzle. He handles these situations with quiet trust, which speaks volumes about his gentle temperament. Buffy would likely do best in a loving home that can offer him patience as he continues to build confidence. A calm environment and consistent reassurance will help him fully blossom into the wonderful companion he is meant to be. In return, he will offer unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and the kind of deep bond that only a sensitive, once-shy dog can give. He is currently in Cyprus looking for a home in UK. He will be neutered, vaccinated, chipped, treated for parasites, have his own pet passport and rescue back up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue.
