Russet is truly a special soul. Since the moment he arrived at the shelter as a stray, he’s left a warm and lasting impression on the hearts of everyone he’s encountered.

It’s impossible not to notice Russet—his striking markings and gentle eyes catch your attention, and his quiet spirit captures your heart. Although people often comment on his handsome appearance, those who get to know him quickly realise how much more there is to this lovely boy.

With a calm and gentle presence, Russet brings a quiet comfort to those around him. He naturally gravitates towards other dogs who share his laid-back manner, radiating quiet strength, wisdom, and a sweet, soft-hearted nature. He’s the kind of dog who somehow makes every room feel warmer and more peaceful, just by being in it.

Russet is a cuddle-seeker through and through. The shelter team lovingly joke that he believes he’s a lap dog—always eager to curl up for a snuggle, never wanting to miss a moment of affection. He adores every bit of attention, sometimes forgetting all about personal space, just to be close to those he loves. His affection is boundless, and he meets everyone with open paws and an open heart.

Described by staff as a truly wonderful all-rounder, Russet gets along especially well with calmer dogs, sharing his easy going way with canine friends who appreciate a peaceful companion. He’s also loving and sociable with every person he meets, never failing to make a new friend or bring a smile to someone’s face.

Russet’s love of food makes him especially eager to please - treats are the way to his heart, and they’re perfect for training sessions. He relishes any interaction that involves a tasty reward and is always up for a game or a learning moment, provided there’s a treat at the end!

On walks, Russet may be a little excited to start, pulling ahead with anticipation, but he quickly settles into the pace. He doesn’t need hours of exercise or constant excitement; instead, he’s happiest with a gentle stroll, a cozy nap, and ending the day curled up beside someone who cares. His needs are simple and his heart is content with the smallest pleasures - a walk, some cuddles, and your company.

Russet would blossom in a home that echoes his own calm and laid-back spirit. He’d love to share his life and space with another easy going dog, or perhaps even with an older canine companion. Most of all, he needs a family that values peacefulness, kindness, and the simple joys of togetherness.

Above everything, Russet’s greatest wish is for a family who will love him as deeply as he will love them. He will be fully vaccinated including rabies vaccination, blood tested, have passport, flea and wormed.  He has been neutered.
